Poetry under the Stars 2026

Predšmarni večer is a quarter-century-old tradition of Slovenian identity, where friends and patriots gather in pletna boats on Lake Bled to hear readings of poetry and reflections on Bled's roots in archaeology, ethnology, history, and literature. Hosted on the eve of the Feast of the Assumption (August 15), the evening celebrates Slovenian cultural heritage with heartfelt verses, wine from Hotel Starkl, and sweet treats prepared by the women of Mlino village. The event is organized by the pletna boatmen, the Bled Culture Institute and the Municipality of Bled. Weather-dependent; check Radio Triglav for postponement announcements.
